Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Part-Time OT Security Specialist with expertise in SCADA, ICS, and industrial cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with OT security solutions like Claroty and Nozomi and will work closely with our clients to enhance the security of critical infrastructure and operational technology (OT) environments.
As an OT Security Specialist, you will be responsible for securing SCADA networks, industrial control systems (ICS), and OT infrastructure against cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance risks. This role is ideal for a cybersecurity professional looking for part-time, project-based work in the rapidly growing field of industrial cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct OT security risk assessments and penetration testing for industrial environments.
- Implement and configure Claroty and Nozomi solutions for network visibility, threat detection, and asset management.
- Develop and enforce security policies and best practices for SCADA, ICS, and OT environments.
- Work with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security tools to monitor and secure industrial systems.
- Perform vulnerability assessments on ICS/SCADA networks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Assist with incident response, forensics, and remediation for OT cybersecurity incidents.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and standards such as NIST 800-82, IEC 62443, and NERC CIP.
- Provide technical guidance and training to clients on OT security best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) Security, SCADA, ICS, and Industrial Control Networks.
- Hands-on experience with Claroty, Nozomi Networks, or other OT monitoring and security solutions.
- Deep understanding of ICS/SCADA protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA, Profibus).
- Experience working with SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, and network segmentation for industrial systems.
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and vulnerability management for OT environments.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture, OT Asset Visibility, and Secure Remote Access Solutions.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple security projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, stakeholders, and security teams.

Experience & Education
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong).
Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in OT/ICS cybersecurity, industrial networking, or SCADA security.
- Experience working with critical infrastructure sectors such as Energy, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Utilities, or Transportation is a plus.
- Certifications such as GICSP, GRID, CISSP, CISM, or ISA/IEC 62443Â are highly desirable.
