We are looking for a **Principal** **Product Manager** to drive the strategy, execution, and growth of **Microsoft Defender for Individuals**. This role focuses on enhancing security protection, customer experience, and adoption across consumer devices and platforms. You will collaborate across engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams to build an intuitive and effective security solution for individuals and families. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving the **Rhythm of Business (ROB)** across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with leadership and executive stakeholders.

**Responsibilities**

**Product Strategy & Roadmap:**

* Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Defender for Individuals.
* Identify customer pain points and translate them into actionable product improvements.
* Balance security efficacy with usability and performance impact.

**Executive Engagement & Rhythm of Business (ROB):**

* Establish and run ROB across cross-org LT and executives, ensuring strategic alignment and progress tracking.
* Develop and present executive-level updates, business reviews, and product health reports.
* Drive cross-functional accountability through structured reporting, OKRs, and governance frameworks.
* Collaborate with leadership to influence investments, product bets, and long-term planning.

**Customer Experience & Growth:**

* Partner with UX, research and marketing teams to improve onboarding, engagement, and retention.
* Drive feature adoption by optimizing the customer journey and in-product messaging.

**Collaboration & Execution:**

* Work closely with engineering to prioritize features, resolve blockers, and ensure timely releases.
* Partner with marketing, sales, and customer support teams to develop go-to-market strategies.

**Security & Platform Integration:**

* Ensure seamless integration with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android security features.
* Align with cross-platform security initiatives within Defender and Microsoft Security.

**Qualifications**

* 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in security or consumer tech.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
* Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, design, and marketing teams.
* Experience working on consumer business, endpoint protection, or related fields.

Preferred:* Familiarity with Defender, Microsoft 365, or other consumer security products.
* Background in cybersecurity, privacy, or endpoint protection technologies.
* Passion for building intuitive and effective security solutions for individuals.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

* **Microsoft Cloud Background Check**: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
